Joe Bryant, the father of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant, has died at the age of 69.
The news was confirmed by multiple outlets, including La Salle University, where Bryant played college basketball. Bryant, who was known as "Jellybean," was a forward who played in the United States and Europe.
After his playing career, Bryant became a coach. He was the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA from 2005 to 2007.
Bryant's death comes just over four years after the tragic helicopter crash that killed his son, Kobe, and eight others.
Bryant is survived by his wife, Pam, and two other daughters, Sharia and Shaya.
