Tamayo Perry, Surfer and Actor, Dies in Shark Attack
Beloved Hawaii Waterman Remembered

Tamayo Perry, a beloved Hawaii waterman, died on Sunday afternoon after being attacked by a shark while surfing in Hawaii. Perry, 49, was an eight-year veteran of Honolulu Ocean Safety and a well-known North Shore waterman.
"This is a tragic loss for the North Shore and for the entire surfing community," said Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi. "Tamayo was a true waterman, and he will be deeply missed."
Perry was a surfer, lifeguard, and actor. He held roles in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "Blue Crush." He also did stunts for the 2004 film "The Big Bounce."
Perry's legacy will live on through his contributions to the surfing community. He was a passionate advocate for ocean safety and a role model for young surfers. He will be remembered as a gifted athlete, a talented actor, and a true Hawaiian waterman.
