Angel Reese's College GPA Goes Viral Before WNBA Debut

NCAA eligibility requirements and LSU's academic standards

In order to maintain their NCAA eligibility, student-athletes must meet certain academic benchmarks. These benchmarks include earning a minimum GPA and completing a certain percentage of their degree requirements.

LSU has its own set of academic standards for student-athletes that are even more stringent than the NCAA's. In order to be eligible to play for LSU, student-athletes must earn a 2.0 GPA in all of their coursework and complete 40% of their degree requirements by the end of their fifth semester.

Angel Reese's academic struggles

Angel Reese is a highly talented basketball player who has been recruited by many of the top college programs in the country. However, she has struggled academically during her time at LSU.

In her first semester, Reese earned a 1.5 GPA. She was then suspended for the second semester for failing to meet the NCAA's minimum GPA requirement of 1.9.

Reese has since improved her academic performance, but she is still not meeting LSU's academic standards. She currently has a 1.9 GPA and has only completed 30% of her degree requirements.

Reese's response to the speculation

Reese has not publicly commented on her academic struggles. However, she did send a cryptic tweet in response to the speculation about her absence from the LSU women's basketball team.

In the tweet, Reese said, "I'm not perfect, but I'm working on it." This suggests that Reese is aware of her academic struggles and that she is committed to improving her grades.

Reese's future at LSU

It is unclear what the future holds for Reese at LSU. If she is unable to meet LSU's academic standards, she may be forced to transfer to another school or give up her basketball career altogether.

However, Reese is a talented player with a lot of potential. If she is able to overcome her academic struggles, she could be a star for the LSU women's basketball team.
